Our Team

Kim McLaughlin, Social Media Strategist

Based in Toronto, Kim is the driving force behind Lyra Communications.

With a background in PR, copywriting and professional services, Kim takes a common-sense approach to social media.

Her experience runs the gamut; she’s flacked for politicians, written speeches for Olympic champions and developed social media presences for some of Toronto’s most recognizable companies like Steeped Tea and Kisko Freezies.

Kim launched Lyra Communications in 2009 to help companies struggling with marketing better engage buyers and build their online brand without having to spend a ton of money on a big agency.

Having studied corporate communications at Seneca and editing at George Brown, Kim has a solid background in copywriting and believes in a flawless finished product.

Her email, web and social media content have helped Lyra’s clients land hundreds of thousands of dollars in new business and meet their business goals.

When away from the office, Kim coaches atom and pee wee hockey at Ted Reeve Arena. Kim is the 2012 recipient of the Charlie Robinson Memorial Award for outstanding contributions to the Ted Reeve Hockey Association and has strong ties within her community.

Samuel Lui, SEO Engineer & SEM Specialist

With an MBA from Franklin W. Olin Graduate School of Business in entrepreneurism and experience in telecom, software and consumer goods, Samuel combines best practices of business with best practices of online marketing, and his campaigns get results.

Samuel has helped small and mid-sized businesses increase incremental revenue worth hundreds of thousands of dollars by increasing the right kind of traffic to clients’ websites, reducing bounce rates, increasing click through rates, all the while streamlining the marketing budget to those tactics that really work.

More than a technician, Samuel is a sound online strategist who understands the intrinsic role of content, search and social media in developing and maintaining a robust web presence.

This man is one of the few people we’ve ever met who actually practices balance. When he’s not hard at work, he’s usually hanging out with his kids in Mississauga or taking a spin on his motorcycle.

Chantal Saville, Copywriter & Blogger

Chantal is a writer, business owner, mother and a key part of the Lyra team. Each month she lends her unparalleled writing talent to all our client blogs and websites.

Chantal eats, breathes and sleeps the written word. She ran a successful community newspaper in eastern Ontario for more than a decade before relocating to Toronto a few years ago.

Since then she’s been published in Today’s Parent, Entrepreneur Mom Now, Peterborough Kids, Kawartha Cuisine Magazine, Trent University and Yummy Mummy Club to name but a few!

Chantal is also a successful ghost writer (we keep asking whose books she’s written but she won’t budge), but we have no desire to keep her a secret. We’re lucky to have her and proud that we can offer her expertise to our clients.

When Chantal isn’t writing, she’s busy becoming a Jedi master alongside her little one,  a goal we fully support.

Digital Trainer Andy Bush

Andy Bush, WordPress Trainer

Andy is a WordPress expert. He regularly designs, builds and optimizes websites through his company, Bush Marketing.

He joined Lyra Communications in 2016 to provide WordPress training to small business owners who want to manage their websites and blogs in-house. Andy’s a sharp digital strategist with deep roots in the real estate and tech sectors. Having successfully operated a number of small businesses, Andy really understands what it takes for a small business owner or employee to do it themselves, which is one of the reasons we’re so excited to partner with him in the training area.

When he’s not working with small business owners, Andy is busy in the community helping organizations like Habitat for Humanity and local foodbanks, and we think that makes him just a little bit awesome.
